Radio

Khmer NZ Community Radio is a non-profit organization, founded in 2003 for the purpose
of serving Khmer Community. Programs include:

Khmer NZ Community Radio broadcast live every Saturday from 5:55 pm to 8:00pm NZT on 104.6 Planet FM.

Currently, there are three volunteers working for the radio programme.

Norina KuyNorina Kuy: Coordinator and Technical Producer.

A producer of Khmer community radio since 1999, Norina is a soccer player with goals. One of those is to bring the news of what is happening back home to the New Zealand Cambodian community …and have fun doing it. He is panel operator, presenter and producer who is a home-care health worker.

Socheat LimSocheat Lim: Broadcaster and Technical Assistant.

The year the programme began, Socheat arrived in NZ. Since 2006 she has been helping Norina with the show. Her work with the Citizens’ Advice Bureau links well with her radio work where she enjoys bringing a lot of knowledge and support to the NZ Cambodian community.

Someda Soeun LimSomeda Soeun Lim: Presenter

Someda is a student who has been helping fellow presenters with the presentation of news in Khmer language since September 2008. To relax from her business studies she likes to read magazines, watch fantasy movies, cook and eat Khmer food. A family visit to France was her first time away from Cambodia and she now joins her sister in NZ.
